Summer of Colour Artist Collaboration: Rich O’Gorman
As part of Mailbox Summer of Colour, we collaborated with Birmingham-based artist Rich O’Gorman (@househomo) who produced Beam, a sweeping floor artwork and unique seating area that drenches the Mailbox Canalside in colour.
Beam is a vibrant exploration of kaleidoscopic colour and shape, unfolding across the surface of Mailbox. Through bold hues and the artist’s signature collage of sweeping, curved forms, the work draws on the site’s rich heritage as a former Sorting Office, its waterside setting and its role as a social destination for gathering and unwinding.
At its heart, Beam represents Mailbox is a place of connection, where city life, culture and community come together in one shared space.
