From 12th – 15th February 2026, Birmingham’s city centre will be transformed once again with stunning light installations, and we are so thrilled to be welcoming Our Beating Heart by Studio Vertigo to Mailbox.

Our Beating Heart reimagines one of nightlife’s most universal icons – the mirror ball – and reshapes it into a symbol of connection and compassion this Valentines weekend. As the heart rotates to the beat, it scatters glimmers of light onto passing faces, couples holding hands and friends dancing under the stars. By day, it brightly mirrors its surroundings. By night, it becomes a beacon of light. See the space transformed with shimmering light and let the thousands of reflections of light wash over you!
PLUS whilst some of our occupiers have put on light-inspired cocktails, available exclusively during Birmingham Light Festival:
~ AC Hotel are offering two spectacular illuminated cocktails; The Red Beam cocktail (Strawberry, Vodka, Soda) and the Electric Canal Fizz (Blue Curacao, White Rum, Orange Juice and Soda). Or for something lighter, go for the Fizz of Brum – all the deliciousness of the Red Beam cocktail, minus the alcohol!
~ Everyman have created their sparkling Golden Passion Fruit Spritz (vodka, passionfruit, glitter and prosecco) designed specifically to mirror the glimmering light of ‘Our Beating Heart’. Perfect to add some special fizz to your evening!
