Inspired by the industrial and cultural context of Birmingham’s rich history, Gas Street Social will serve up a seasonal taste of home comforts and European sharing cuisine, alongside a speciality drinks menu. Designed to be shared amongst friends, family and colleagues, diners can enjoy a range of sharing dishes, grazing boards, small plates, stone-baked flatbreads and locally sourced meats and seafood whilst enjoying a selection of regional and international craft beers and fine wines. Gas Street Social will also offer a tantalising classic cocktail menu, featuring handcrafted signature creations and sharing drinks created by the award winning team at Shaker Consultancy.
Centred on the concept of sharing and socialising, Gas Street Social will feature large sharing tables, intimate booth areas and a cosy ‘snug’ area, providing the perfect venue for quick bites and lazy lunches. Heading into the weekend, the venue provides a social hub in the city centre for late night drinks and dancing until 2am complete with the worlds first DJ Kitchen.
With the restaurant area able to accommodate up to 120 diners, as well as an outdoor terrace for up to 36 people and a large bar area, the venue is well designed to cater for large groups. Designed by Spencer Swinden, the team behind the infamous Plough in Harborne, the industrial deign of the restaurant will deliver unique character to the Gas Street Basin.
Adam Freeth, managing director and founder of Gas Street Social, said: “We are delighted to be amongst such great company here at the Mailbox, and as a Birmingham based company, we’re excited to be opening this venue on home soil. We’ve brought together a fantastic team to create an incredible design and food and beverage offer, which we believe will be a great addition to the new Mailbox and Birmingham’s world-class culinary scene.”
