Spring Brights at Shavata Nail Bar

What better way to wave goodbye to the January blues than a gorgeous manicure? I was lucky enough to visit the Shavata Nail Bar at Harvey Nichols Birmingham for some much needed nail pampering.

Although well know for its eyebrow and lash services, the Shavata nail bar has a wide range of high quality and stylish treatments on offer.  There are lots of different file and paint options for fingers and toes including polish, gel treatments, acrylic extension and nail art.

A full set of Artistic Gel Nails (with 23 shades to choose from) starts at £35 and lasts for an impressive 14 days. If you prefer something more dramatic, a full set of Gel or Acrylic Enhancements starts at £60, with refills (recommended every 2-3 weeks) at £32.

I opted for a shape and polish with a vibrant orange nail varnish to perk me up during the recent gloomy weather. Orange is a big colour for SS13 and Shavata has already seen many of its customers opt for this fruity hue.

Pastel shades have also been extremely popular among clients so far this season, a powder blue colour in particular – a perfect accompaniment to the candy colours we’re seeing in stores for the coming season.

After carefully filing shaping my nails into my preferred square shape, a clear protective base coat was applied before the first coat of the bold ‘Meet Me At Sunset’ orange polish by Essie. Once dry, a second coat was applied, followed by a luxurious top coat that gave a high shine gloss finish and the appearance of gel nails.

If you’d like to take your nail colour home for toes or touch-ups, bottle can be purchased from the counter for £10.50.

I love my new nails! The pop of colour has brightened up my mid season look and works perfectly with slick of MAC ‘Morange’ lipstick for a more dramatic evening look.
